Oh, Hi! I know I’m late. I had an incredible last day of 2018 and the first day of 2019! I was able to experience my New Years Eve on a boat. Good food. Great vibes. Plenty of fun. I’ll never forget that night especially playing fuseball within the first fifteen minutes of 2019! For the first day of the new year, I went on adventure! I had brunch @wickedsistershampden, went to my favorite place in Hampden @sweetside_cafe and played the card game ”War”. I won. I ended the day at @horseshoebmore checking out @guyfieri’s restaurant. When 2018 started, I believed that things would be better than 2017. This year I learned that life is really unpredictable no matter how much you plan in advance. Jan. 2018 - My mother was admitted to the hospital after complications with her last chemo treatment. By the end of the month, I decided to leave my job to become my mother’s full time caregiver. Feb. 2018 - On Feb 11, I turned 30 years old. Mar. 2018 - Our family received the news that we should consider hospice for my mother. We all were shocked. But, we decided to bring my mother home. April 2018 - I celebrated my mother’s birthday. I will never forget that day. Also, I had to go to a required workshop for unemployment. Once I had these new tools and revisions from the workshop, I started to feel better about job searching again. July 2018 - In this month, I landed a new job and helped my brother move into his first house. Sept. 2018 - When my mother stopped talking, I asked my brother if I could move in with him. I moved in Labor Day weekend. I was at work on Sept. 7 when I received a call from my mother’s nurse. She told me to hurry home to see my mother. I don't like to talk about this day but it was the most emotional day of my life. My mother passed away peacefully at home. My mother’s side was there for me within minutes or hours. I want to thank them all for being there for my brother and I. On September 22, I attended my mother's funeral. That day, I was the strongest I ever been in my life. I believe it was my mother holding me up and letting me know I need to be strong. After September, I just put a smile on even though I was grieving and trying to adjust from this traumatic event. Grieving has stages...tell that to someone I know. You have to respect that everyone copes differently. My boss came back from maternity leave in December. It felt great to get back to normal and feel inspired again. Best boss ever by the way! I experienced my first Christmas without my mother. My brother and I started new traditions for the holidays. My hope for 2019 is to experience more happiness in my life. #goals #endofyear #myyear #reflections
