Weekend Catwalk: Contemporary Museum Basted Event, Mother Made Trunk Show and First Fashion Night Out Meeting

The Contemporary Museum presents BASTED at Pier 5 Hotel

On May 5 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m, Contemporary Museum presents Basted (annual trunk show) at the Pier 5 Hotel located at 711 Eastern Ave.

The trunk show will feature designers Anita Scharrer, Feral Childe, and MICA Fiber Department Alumni. 


On Saturday, May 5, from noon to 4 p.m., Mother Made is having a trunk show at Ten Thousand Villages on 1621 Thames Street.  

If you are looking for locally made Mother’s Day gift that gives back, Mother Made bags a perfect choice. 

Mother Made is a local program that helps low-earning women use their crafting skills to generate income. They have teamed up with Ten Thousand Villages, a fair-trade retailer located in Fells Point, promotes buying relationships with skilled artisans who are under- or unemployed.

Mother Made will showcase signature produce bags, shopping bags, and hand-dyed napkins and scarves. Products are available for a range of prices from $5 – $50.

MOTHER MADE is a program of the Episcopal Community Services of Maryland that produces reusable produce bags and shopping bags in Baltimore City. Our products reduce plastic bag use in grocery stores and farmer’s markets by offering consumers an alternative.

FIRST Fashion’s Night Out Planning Meeting

On Monday, May 7 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., join the Baltimore Fashion Alliance to plan the second annual Fashion Night Out in Baltimore! This is a great way to get involved with the planning of a major Baltimore event. 

Please come out and join a committee to get involved with the Baltimore Fashion Alliance. Planning meetings for Fashion’s Night Out will take place on the FIRST MONDAY of every month at 6pm except Labor Day.
